In the Circus with the Leica M9
I went to a local Circus Friday and brought my Leica M9. A little test of how this older digital camera coped with very coloured light and in between very low light. So just the Leica M9 with a Summilux 50mm f1.4 lens. It’s a children’s Circus and they performed for an audience mainly from elderly homes.

ISO 800
ISO pushed to 800 in most photos, and I chose black-and-white because the colours (on any camera) are often as smashed by overly blue or red light. And I prefer continuity in a series of photos often. Not always, but in this case. That was my mood for the day. Shot wide open at f1.4 to get as much light in as possible to have a decent shutter speed.
ISO 800 doesnt sound about much these days, but the older Leica M9 has its limits. In black-and-white it can go higher, but for colours its close to the limits before it ruins the colours.

Thank you. Beautiful contrast and focus on a central figure conveying genuine emotion. (But it wasn’t the camera that did that, it was you who did that!)
