The matching colour of the ballon and the way it drifted around caught my eye. A small scenery of something strange.

The shop, devoid of people, offers a moment of solitude and reflection. The absence of human presence allows the colors to speak for themselves, telling a story or asking a question. I let the viewer decide.

At the end of this article I added a free Kodachrome preset for Lightroom imitating these colours natural produced by the M9 CCD-sensor. You can use this for other camera models.

The story

The balloon, seemingly suspended in time, invites photographers to capture a fleeting moment. As you frame your shot, consider the interplay of colours and the emotions they evoke. The blue tones bring a sense of calm and tranquillity, while the yellow and red add a touch of excitement and energy.

This scene, though simple, is a testament to the power of colour in photography.

It reminds us that even in the busiest of cities, there are pockets of serenity and bursts of joy waiting to be discovered. A small oasis maybe asking more questions, or just adding a kind of a movie scene to let the imagination continue the story.

Camera settings

Leica M9 with a 50mm Summilux f1.5 was used to capture the moment. Aperture about 5,6, shutter speed 1/250 and ISO 160. The Kodachrome colours produced by the Leica M9 CCD sensor can be reproduced more or less accurate with some tweaks in Lightroom for other cameras. I add a link to a free preset for LR Classic you can adapt to use as your Kodachrome camera profile.
